Zionist court gives Bennett last chance to evacuate Palestinian village of Al-Khan al-Ahmar

The Supreme Court of the Zionist regime gave the new cabinet the opportunity to evacuate the strategic village of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar in Palestine.

The Supreme Court of the Zionist regime issued a ruling giving the cabinet of Naftali Bennett the opportunity to evacuate the strategic village of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar in Palestine.

Al-Khan Al-Ahmar is an important link between Ramallah and East Jerusalem, which according to the decision of the Zionist regime is to be destroyed after the deadline of this court.

Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed reported that the court gave the Bennett government until September 5, claiming that the opportunity could not be extended.

The court ruled that Bennett’s cabinet should state its position on evacuating the village and moving it east of the occupied city of Jerusalem during the period.

On September 5, 2017, the Zionist regime court issued an eviction order for Al-Khan Al-Ahmar. Internal pressures forced the former regime to postpone the evacuation process.

The Zionists hoped to persuade the villagers to leave, but the residents insisted that they would stay in the village.

Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, however, called for a postponement of the evacuation a few days ago to examine the “political and security consequences” of the move.

Lapid sent a letter to Bennett saying that the evacuation had been going on for three years and that the court had ordered the evacuation and destruction of the village, but that the area had not been evacuated to date due to “various political calculations by previous governments”.

He acknowledged that the evacuation of the village posed “great challenges” at the level of Israeli and international domestic politics, which could have “many political consequences”.

The Zionist regime claims that the houses of the Palestinians in this village, which has a population of about 700, were built without permission.
