Zardari’s trip to America, bilateral and multilateral issues on the agenda

Pak Sahafat – Pakistan’s foreign minister is going to make a week-long visit to the United States of America starting tomorrow, the agenda of which is bilateral and multilateral interactions, especially in the regional, economic and climate change fields.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Pakistan’s official sources, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is going to discuss bilateral and regional issues during official meetings in Washington and New York.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, the agenda of Zardari’s visit will be to try to accelerate the bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States, especially in the fields of trade, investment, climate issues and economic development.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan also presents his country’s view on the phenomenon of climate change, major damages caused by the recent flood in Pakistan and the reconstruction plan of the disaster areas.

It seems that the current economic crisis in Pakistan, the devastation caused by floods, which are the main factors of reducing the country’s foreign exchange reserves and the challenge in paying foreign debts, were raised during the meetings of the Pakistani foreign minister with the American officials, because it is said that Islamabad is looking for the role of Washington to facilitate in receiving a loan from the International Monetary Fund and exiting Pakistan’s negotiations with the IMF officials.

Zardari is also going to participate in various meetings at the United Nations in New York and will also meet with the Secretary General of the United Nations. Participating in the Ministerial Conference of the Group of 77 plus China and the high-level meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the topic of maintaining international peace and security will also be among other plans of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during his visit to the United States.
