According to the statistics published by the Russian Foreign Ministry, thousands of mercenaries from 60 countries have gone to Ukraine, and Moscow considers their presence as a form of Western support for Kiev.

Referring to the use of foreign mercenaries by Kiev in the war, Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Russian Investigative Committee, said on March 1 that foreigners who fight for Ukraine are paid up to $2,734.

He told the TASS news agency: The Investigative Committee has received information that the Kiev government, with the support of the West, encourages foreign mercenaries to join the Ukrainian soldiers on the battlefield. This act of Ukraine contradicts international standards and is illegal.
