You are not my king; the reaction of the citizens of England to the coronation of Charles III

Pak Sahafat – The leader of the largest British anti-monarchy movement announced that the members of this group planned to hold a protest demonstration at the coronation ceremony of “Charles III” and carry placards with the slogan “You are not my king”.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Graham Smith, head of the British Republican Movement, told The Times of London that this demonstration is the largest anti-royalty protest movement in nearly 40 years.

According to him, the protesters plan to carry yellow placards on the path of Charles’ carriage on the coronation day, which reads: “You are not my king”.

Stating that the goal of the protesters is to be there early in the morning and get as close as possible to the fences on the side of the street, Smith added: We want to make sure that when Charles passes, our placards are visible to him and the media.

Stating that coordination has been made with the London police, this civil activist said: The members of this group have even prepared themselves for a verbal fight with the supporters of the royal system.

The king of England was again treated with eggs

Charles has taken the helm of the throne since September of last year, after the death of his mother nicknamed Elizabeth II, and his coronation ceremony is scheduled to be held in the middle of May.

In several trips he made to English cities after assuming the throne, he was met by the gathering of opponents of the royal system and was greeted with egg throwing in several cases.

According to the announced schedule, the coronation ceremony of Charles has been prepared for the sixth day of May. But the protests against him have increased in a situation where the people of the island are going through a difficult time under the pressure of skyrocketing costs of living and double-digit inflation.

For many years, the British Republican Movement has been calling for a referendum on the future of the British monarchy and insists that this system is a reminder of the oppressions that British kings have inflicted on the people.

The results of a survey show that most of the members of the second political party in England (Labor) are also against the royal system in this country and are embarrassed to sing the English national anthem in praise of Queen Elizabeth.

YouGov research shows that only 15% of the party’s members are proud of British history, and 43% are ashamed of its colonial history. Based on this, 62 percent want the removal of the monarchy and the establishment of a republic.
