William Burns officially became the head of the CIA

With the approval of all members of the Senate, William Burns has officially become the head of the CIA.

The Senate on Friday approved William Burns as chairman of the Central Intelligence Agency.

US news sources say that almost no member of the Senate had opposed the presidency of Burns for CIA.

In mid-February, US President Joe Biden formally named veteran diplomat William Burns as the new Central Intelligence Agency’s director.

With the approval of William Burns in the Senate, he is the first chairman of this organization to spend his entire career in the US State Department.

Earlier, CNN wrote about the reason for choosing Burns as the head of the CIA, that the reason for this choice is his diplomatic experience and his ability for what is called “restoring the credibility of this intelligence agency in the post-Trump period”.
