Why is Britain insisting on expelling Afghan translators?

With the withdrawal of US and NATO troops from Afghanistan, fears for the lives of thousands of local translators who worked with them during the 20 years of military occupation have intensified among high-ranking former British commanders calling for their withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The BBC News Network reported: A number of former British military commanders have called on the government to withdraw as many Afghans who have worked with the British military in Afghanistan in recent years as translators.

The BBC added: In a letter written by the group of former British military commanders to the Prime Minister, he expressed grave concern about the situation of hundreds of Afghan translators who have worked with the British military in Afghanistan and whose application form to stay in Britain has been rejected.

So the reports of those who signed the letter to the British government include four “British Chief of Defense Staff”, two former British Army commanders, a former national security adviser and Johnny Mercer, the former British Secretary of Defense.

The English-language broadcaster continued: Meanwhile, the request of 2,200 former Afghan employees and their families to settle in Britain is currently being supported.

A part of this letter addressed to the British government reads: The request of many of our former translators (Afghan translators who worked with the British military) has been rejected for no reason, and we strongly urge an immediate review of policies in this area to ensure that more are spared.

This disgrace will be written at the feet of the British people

The letter added: If any of the translators are killed by the Taliban because of the withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan, this “disgrace” will be written to our nation.

BBC added: More than 3,000 former Afghan translators working with the UK can reside in the UK with their families under the ARAP program.

The United States invaded Afghanistan on October 7, 2001, by attacking the Twin Towers in Manhattan, New York, and fighting terrorism to overthrow the Taliban, after 20 years of military presence and occupation, creating insecurity, it is rapidly fleeing Afghanistan; The result is a worse scandal for Washington than the Vietnam War.
