The Israeli foreign minister made his first foreign trip to the UAE since taking office. Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid arrived in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi on Tuesday for a two-day visit. “On the way to the UAE for a historic trip,” he wrote in a Twitter message before taking off for Abu Dhabi.
During his two-day visit to the UAE, Lapid inaugurated the Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai, and some Arab media described the purpose of the trip as completing the process of reconciliation between the UAE and the Zionist regime, others saw the trip as strengthening a common position on the Iranian nuclear issue and talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed to form a coalition to defeat the Biden government in the case. Meanwhile, the Zionist regime’s media also described Lapid’s trip as a “peace meeting.”
A compromise agreement between the UAE and Bahrain with the Zionist regime, brokered by former US President Donald Trump in Washington last September, is called the “Ibrahim Agreement”.
