The spokesman of the White House linked the visit of the Russian President to Tehran, which took place within the framework of the Astana meeting, to the crisis in Ukraine in a false and baseless claim and claimed that Putin’s visit is related to the war in Ukraine.
According to the International group of Pak Sahafat news agency, in a hysterical reaction, White House spokesperson Karin Jean-Pierre attacked Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Tehran on Tuesday evening, Tehran time, and claimed that this visit is related to the Ukraine crisis.
Continuing her baseless claims against Putin’s visit to Tehran, Jean-Pierre announced that the Russian president traveled to Iran due to “political isolation caused by the war in Ukraine!”
She continued her projection against Putin’s visit to Iran, which took place in line with the negotiations related to the Astana meeting to resolve the Syrian crisis, and added: “This trip shows that Moscow has no decision to stop the war in Ukraine!”

According to the Hill base, the White House spokesman emphasized the continuation of the sanctions against Russia in his press conference, which was held jointly with “John Kirby”, the coordinator of American security affairs, and said: “Washington will soon add new Russian individuals and entities to the sanctions list.”
In another part of her speech, Karin Jean-Pierre mentioned the JCPOA issue and said that the nuclear deal with Iran will benefit the region and Washington is still trying to achieve this agreement.
The White House spokesman’s claims are made while Tehran hosted the presidents of Turkey and Russia on Tuesday in continuation of the Astana talks on Syria.
At the end of the meeting, the presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey announced in a joint statement that the presidents emphasized their unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as to the goals and principles of the United Nations Charter. They stated that these principles should be respected by everyone and no action, regardless of its perpetrators, should weaken these principles.
