Washington: Saudi Arabia commits killings / “Israel” arbitrarily arrests Palestinians

The report cites “illegal killings” in Saudi Arabia, where “death sentences were carried out for non-violent crimes and enforced disappearances were recorded.”

The US State Department has released its Human Rights Report for 2020, which addresses “government respect for civil and political rights” in several countries around the world.

The report cites “illegal killings” in Saudi Arabia, where “death sentences were carried out for non-violent crimes and enforced disappearances were recorded.”

The annual report stated that the Saudi government “did not punish officials accused of human rights abuses” and that it was “involved in harassing Saudi dissidents living abroad.”

The new US administration categorized the US intelligence report on the killing of Saudi opposition leader Jamal Khashgeji last February as indicating that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had “authorized an operation in Turkey to kidnap or kill him”.

The report continued: “Saudi Arabia has made arbitrary arrests and detentions, as well as severe restrictions on freedom of expression and the press.”

In the related text, the US State Department report referred to Israeli human rights abuses against the Palestinians, including the “arbitrary arrest of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.”

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken reaffirmed earlier today that his country would not oppose any country but would stand by its constitutional rights, and when any country undermines its rights, we will stand up and talk about them as we do about human rights abuses just like we spoke out against China and Russia.

“Washington will hold all countries that violate human rights accountable, and we will use all diplomatic means to defend human rights and hold those involved accountable,” Blinken said.
