The Mumbai local government blocked Shivam Hospital on Friday and revoked its license. The reason for this action was the wide field of counterfeit vaccines in this medical center.
Police are investigating whether the hospital produced counterfeit Corona vaccines. The owners of this hospital are currently in custody.
Earlier this year, the treatment center was introduced as a private vaccination center and received government approval to immunize people against Corona. The hospital received more than 20,000 bottles of vaccine from the Mumbai local government. However, police believe that some of the vaccine bottles fell into the hands of fraudsters, and police suspect that the hospital may have refilled the empty vaccine bottles with salt water.
Indian police are reportedly interrogating at least 10 vaccination centers on fraud charges, which are accused of making tens of thousands of dollars through the supply of counterfeit vaccines.
