The plan to lift the ban on payments to Afghanistan for humanitarian purposes was approved today by a unanimous vote of the members of the UN Security Council.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, quoted by AFP, The United Nations Security Council on Wednesday approved a plan to lift the ban on payments to Afghanistan for humanitarian purposes.
According to the reports, the resolution authorizes “financial payments, economic resources or financial assets, as well as the provision of necessary goods and services to ensure the timely delivery of aid and support for such activities.”
The resolution supports “basic human needs in Afghanistan” and emphasizes that these cases “do not contradict the sanctions imposed on the Taliban.”

It is worth mentioning that this resolution was submitted to the UN Security Council at the suggestion of the United States and was approved by a unanimous vote of the member states.
However, after the Taliban came to power in mid-August this year, the international community announced that the restrictions imposed on the interim Taliban government in Afghanistan until the formation of a comprehensive government with the presence and participation of various ethnic groups in the country.
