Ukraine: We expect to reach an agreement with Russia soon

Pak Sahafat – Mikhail Budulak, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, said on Friday that he expected to reach an agreement with Russia in the near future.

According to Pak Sahafat News agency, Budulak told Al Jazeera Qatar: The first round of agreement with Russia was unsuccessful due to Russia’s miscalculations about the situation in Ukraine.

He added: Our negotiating team asked Russia to defend the territory of Ukraine and to compensate for the destruction of our country’s infrastructure.

Budulak added: We proposed air surveillance and the installation of CCTV cameras to identify the cause of the violation of human passage.

He called for an end to the conflict, a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russia and their return to before February 24.

Adviser to the President of Ukraine claimed that the Russians are attacking human crossings in many areas to advance on the battlefields.

He reiterated that NATO was not responsible for the war and acted as if it did not care about the events in Ukraine.

Budulak said at the end: The United Nations and international organizations are closed to the current events in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday (February 21st) criticized the West for not paying attention to Moscow’s security concerns that His country recognizes the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics and signed cooperation and friendship agreements with the leaders of these republics in the Kremlin.

In a speech on Russian national television on the morning of Thursday, February 24, Putin announced military action in Donbas and called on Ukrainian forces to lay down their weapons and go home.

As the war in Ukraine continues, the flood of global reactions to the event continues, with diplomatic pressure and international threats and sanctions against Russia increasing.
