Ukraine called for continued Western assistance until victory in the war

Pak Sahafat – Ukraine’s deputy defense minister has said his country needs continuous Western help, not temporary help, to defeat Russian forces.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency on Monday “Ghana Milliard” from the French newspaper “Le Figaro” told local media: We are already in a long war and we need constant support. The West must understand that its aid cannot be temporary, but must continue until we win.

The remarks come as Kiev waits to receive a promised US missile system that may change the balance of power with Russia in eastern Ukraine. The United States announced on Wednesday that it would send about four Himaras systems, 1,000 Javelin anti-tank missiles and four May 17 helicopters to Ukraine in the form of a new weapons package.

Undersecretary of Defense Colin Kal said Ukrainian forces would need about three weeks to use Himaras guided missile launchers, which could give Ukrainians the advantage of distance and accuracy in the Donbass battle.

Putin: Dealing with Ukraine’s weapons is like breaking a hazelnut

According to the report, many countries have sent military aid to Ukraine, being careful not to be considered a hostile country by Russia. Vladimir Putin has threatened to attack new targets if Western long-range missiles are delivered to Ukraine. Without elaborating, he told Russian television that if such a missile system were to be delivered, Russia would attack sites it had not yet targeted.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 21, 2022 recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region, criticizing the West’s indifference to Moscow’s security concerns.

Three days later, on Thursday, February 24, Putin launched a so-called “special operation” against Ukraine, shifting tensions between Moscow and Kiev to a military confrontation.

It has been 100 days since the beginning of the war in Ukraine and the reactions to the Russian invasion, the sending of weapons to this country and its new consequences in the political, military, economic and social fields continue.
