Turkish Religious Affairs Minister reacts to anti-Islamic remarks by Indian officials

Pak Sahafat – In response to the anti-Islamic and insulting remarks of Indian officials against the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), the head of Turkish religious affairs called on them to learn coexistence and tolerance.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, in an interview with Al Jazeera on Thursday, Ali Arbas, the head of Turkish Religious Affairs, said: Indian officials need to learn about coexistence and compromise between all.

The Turkish religious official stressed: We condemn the insult to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and reject the statements made in India.

Official protests against New Delhi erupted after two officials from India’s ruling party made derogatory remarks against the Prophet during a televised debate, prompting a “public apology” from Qatar and several others. Another Muslim country, international reactions against the Indian government increased.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and at least five Arab countries have announced their official protests against the Indian government to the Indian Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

India’s ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has compiled a list of 38 of its leaders who have previously made insulting remarks, barring them from any comments that offend religious sentiments.

Indian police also announced on Wednesday the arrest of the youth leader of India’s ruling party, Bharatiya Janata, for publishing anti-Muslim material on social media.
