Turkish Foreign Minister welcomes Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul corridor

Welcoming the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul corridor, the Turkish Foreign Minister also welcomed the launch of the Zangzur communication route.

According to Pak Sahafat news agency, quoted by Anatoly, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşo Oghlu said at the 15th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states, which is being held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan: One of the important areas we need to focus on is regional trade and communications.

Referring to some historical changes in the global supply chain, Çavuşo‌lu said: Asia is growing not only as a manufacturing hub, but also as the largest consumer market.

He mentioned: This provides significant opportunities for all of us. ECO should act as a bridge for trade and economic cooperation between Asia and Europe. We need to do more to turn Echo into a result-oriented structure. Achieving the 2025 vision is crucial to this.

Çavuşo Oghlu continued: In my opinion, ECO should be more active as an organization at the heart of historic trade routes and cultural centers.

Welcoming the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul corridor, the Turkish Foreign Minister said: The decision to set up a road and rail link in the South Caucasus, especially in Zangzur, is gratifying.
