Trump is still the leading candidate of the Republicans in the 2024 US election

Pak Sahafat – According to a new poll in the United States of America, Donald Trump, the former and controversial president of this country, despite the criminal charges and having various cases, is superior to his rivals in the Republican Party for the 2024 presidential election of the United States and is the leading candidate.

According to the Pak Sahafat News Agency from a new poll by The New York Times and Sinai University, former US President Donald Trump has an advantage over his Republican rivals in the 2024 primaries, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Trump’s most serious opponent, and has received 37% fewer votes compared to him.

The poll shows that the third Republican candidate won only 3% of the vote and in a poll with two candidates, Trump won 31% more votes than DeSantis.

In this poll, Trump got 54% of the votes and DeSantis got 17% of the votes.

Former US Vice President Mike Pence, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and Senator Tim Scott each received only 3% of the vote.

Trump and DeSantis overall rank well in favorability. The poll showed that 76% of voters chose Trump and 66% chose DeSantis.

The poll comes as Republicans have a slight lead over Democrats. According to the Gallup Institute, 45% of Americans are Republicans or tend to be Republicans, while 42% of people in this country are Democrats or tend to be Democrats.

According to a New York Times-Sinai University poll, 71 percent of Republican voters think Trump has committed no serious wrongdoing.

Notice letters are usually given to people in criminal investigations to inform them that they face the possibility of indictment. Trump similarly received a letter of notification before he was indicted by a grand jury in Florida for misappropriating classified documents.

On August 5, United States prosecutors charged former President Donald Trump and another of his staff members with trying to dissuade officials from obtaining sensitive national security documents from Trump.

Jack Smith, the special investigator of the Trump case, accused him of refusing to return the classified documents, referring to an interview of the former US president in which he spoke of an “attack plan” on another country.

Special Counsel Jack Smith filed three new criminal charges against Trump, bringing the total to 40, charging Carlos de Oliveira, a worker at Trump’s Maralago resort, with conspiracy to obstruct the law and helping Trump hide documents.

According to the documents, De Oliveira, 56, told another worker at the residence where Trump lives that “the boss” wanted the Florida property’s security videos removed after being subpoenaed by the Justice Department.
