Trump: If I were president, we would leave Afghanistan in a better way

Former US President has blamed the Joe Biden for the current dire situation in Afghanistan. He is the second US commander-in-chief to criticize the Biden administration’s actions in ending the long-running war in Afghanistan.

According to the Washington Examiner, Donald Trump, who during his presidency stipulated an agreement with the Taliban for a complete withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan on May 1, said he considered the withdrawal a “conditional withdrawal.”

The former US president said: He personally consulted with senior Taliban leaders and they realized that what they were doing now was unacceptable. This exit could have been much different and more successful, and the Taliban realized it better than anyone.

Trump’s remarks come as the Taliban are increasing the number of provincial centers under their control every day, and the US withdrawal is nearing the end of this month. Trump called the situation in Afghanistan “unacceptable” and said it “should have been done much better.”

According to the Washington Post, Biden government officials have lost faith in the Kabul government and its ability to confront the Taliban, and some believe the government will fall much sooner than expected. Many officials predict that Kabul will be under Taliban control for a month to 90 days, much darker than intelligence officials predicted that Kabul would fall within six months of the US withdrawal.

Last month, former US President George W. Bush criticized the Biden administration’s decision to withdraw US troops, arguing that “the consequences will be unbelievably bad.” Bush said: I am afraid that Afghan women and girls will suffer indescribable injuries after the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan on 31 August. It is unbelievable how this society changed from the brutality of the Taliban.
