Trump and Pence duel for the leadership of the Republican Party

Pak Sahafat – Former US President Donald Trump and his former Vice President Mike Pence faced each other to win the leadership of the Republican Party in the state of Arizona.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s Sunday report, the BBC news channel wrote: Trump and Pence delivered a competitive speech in support of their endorsed Republican candidate for Arizona governor. The former president of the United States gave a speech at an event for “Kari Leake” who supported Trump’s claims about election fraud, and on the other hand, Pence supports a person named “Karin Taylor Robson” who opposes Leake.

Both Trump and Pence may run for president in 2024. The two fell out after Trump accused his former vice president of failing to prevent Joe Biden from winning the 2020 election.

Trump claimed that the election was stolen from him and asked the former vice president not to confirm the election result, but Pence considered this decision illegal. During the chaos in the US Congress on January 6, 2021, Trump tweeted that Pence did not have the courage to do what he had to do to protect the country.

Trump’s umbrella Supporter Lake told reporters Friday in Prescott, Arizona, that election fraud will no longer be tolerated. Trump, who was accompanying this former journalist, told the crowd that the election was rigged and now the country has been systematically destroyed because of this.

On the other hand, Pence supported Taylor Robson in a speech in Peoria, Illinois, and announced that no one worked as hard as he did for Trump-Pence in 2016 and 2020.

Unlike the former US president, Pence did not criticize Trump or make any reference to the controversial election during his speech. But he later wrote in a tweet that if the Republican Party is busy with yesterday’s complaints, then it will lose.

The US midterm elections will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. In this election, the assignment of all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 out of 100 seats in the Senate will be determined.

Also, in this election, the future governors of 36 American states, including Arizona, will be determined, and this event is the first election after the 2020 census in America, and it is also very important in this sense.
