The vague death of a senior Saudi commander

News sources report the death of the commander of King Abdullah Air Base in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and there are several accounts of his death.

Some news sources report the death of Maj. Gen. Ali Zafer al-Shehri, commander of King Abdullah Jeddah Air Base in Saudi Arabia.

There have been several reports of the death of the Saudi military official, and some sources have cited al-Zafari as falling while climbing.

Meanwhile, a close member of the Saudi general’s family denied that he had died while climbing, saying that al-Zafari had died in a Jeddah hospital.

Other sources make it clear that the Saudi military official was killed during a recent missile and drone strike by Ansarullah forces on targets deep in Saudi territory.

The Yemeni army announced on Sunday night that it had launched a large-scale operation and fired eight ballistic missiles at military and vital targets in Saudi Arabia.

The Yemeni UAV and missile unit fired and sent 22 missiles and UAVs to Saudi Arabia in a joint operation, said Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sari in a press conference.

The operation, dubbed “Deterrence Equation 6,” involved eight ballistic missiles and 14 long-range attack drones, he said.

A spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces described the important operation that, the operation targeted the Saudi National Oil Company (Aramco), as well as the Ras al-Tanwara oil port and military targets in the city of Al-Dammam (eastern Saudi Arabia), with 10 Samad 3 UAVs and a Zulfiqar missile.
