The United States is reviewing the documents of 9/11 attacks

The Biden administration announced Monday that it would review cases related to the 9/11 attacks.

According to Reuters, the families of the victims have previously stated that they will only agree to the presence of US President Joe Biden at the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the attacks, which will reveal documents that they say show support for Saudi leaders in the attacks.

“Biden said in a statement: “My government is committed to ensuring maximum transparency under the law.”

He added: “I welcome today’s action by the Ministry of Justice, which includes a commitment to review documents previously hidden by the government, and to do so as soon as possible.”

Relatives of the victims of the 9/11 attacks in New York and Washington, which killed nearly 3,000 people, made the request in a letter issued Friday as the 20th anniversary of the attacks approached.

Saudi Arabia has previously said it had no role in the attacks because its perpetrators used hijacked planes.

The Saudi embassy in Washington did not respond to a request from the victims’ families.

On Monday, the US Attorney’s Office in Manhattan announced that the FBI has decided what it said earlier; Investigate why it could not release some of the information requested by the victims’ families.

James Krindler, a lawyer for some of the victims’ families, said he and his clients hoped the FBI and Justice Department actions would show that “we will get the documents we have been working on for years.”

For years, the families of the victims and their lawyers have complained that US agencies have been hiding documents linking Saudi Arabia to the 9/11 attacks.
