The United States is developing military bases in western Saudi Arabia

A spokesman for the Centcom terrorist organization announced the start of a plan to develop a number of military bases in western Saudi Arabia and turn them into logistics and relief bases.

Bill Urban, a spokesman for the US Central Command (Centcom) terrorist unit, announced the start of operations to develop several military bases in western Saudi Arabia, claiming that they would be used for logistical and relief purposes.

He added: This is an emergency plan to ensure that the military has secure access to equipment and should not be seen as an increase in the US military presence in the region.

According to the Centcom official, Saudi Arabia has paid for the development of these bases.

Earlier, the Associated Press reported that the US military was considering deploying troops to a Red Sea port and two other air bases in Saudi Arabia as tensions with Iran escalated.

The U.S. military said at the time that the measures were part of future “contingency plans and support,” but that it was piloting cargo at the Red Sea port of Yanbu and transporting it by land.

The US military’s use of the port of Yanbu and King Faisal Air Base in Tabuk and King Fahd Air Base in Taif on the Red Sea will allow it to expand its strategic water operations in the region.

According to a Centcom spokesperson, the investigation into the possibility of deploying forces in these areas began a year ago, after a missile and drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities in September 2019.
