The Republican senator called for an effective confrontation with Iran

A Republican senator has called on the president to confront Tehran effectively, claiming that Iran is only “a few days away” from delivering offensive missiles and boats to Venezuela.

According to Sputnik, Republican Sen. Marco Rubio in the US Congress on Saturday (Washington time) in response to the passage of two Iranian warships across the Atlantic that are supposed to be heading to Venezuela, called on the current US administration to effectively To confront Tehran.

Rubio wrote in a Twitter message: “Biden must not allow his (his) helplessness to save the Iranian nuclear deal to prevent him from confronting Iran effectively.”

It is worth mentioning that the Iranian army has confirmed the passage of these warships across the Atlantic Ocean.

Following media reports, the US government was quick to express concern about the possible purchase of military equipment from Iran by Venezuela’s legitimate president, Nicolas Maduro.

Politico also quoted unnamed officials as saying that the US government is urging Latin American countries, including Venezuela and Cuba, to return the ships.

For years, Washington has put both Tehran and Caracas under the harshest economic pressure under the pretext of “undemocratic regimes” threatening regional security. US sanctions against Venezuela also include a ban on arms sales to the Latin American country.
