The Red Cross is concerned about the increase in the number of victims of the conflicts in Sudan

Pak Sahafat – The director of the Africa region of the International Committee of the Red Cross expressed concern on Wednesday night about the increase in the number of victims in the conflicts in Sudan.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from Al-Jazeera, “Patrick Yaqoub” said: If the current situation continues, the number of civilian casualties in Sudan will increase.

The director of the African region of the International Committee of the Red Cross also expressed hope that a ceasefire in Sudan will be implemented even for a short time.

This is despite the announcement of a 24-hour ceasefire throughout Sudan, intense clashes between the Sudanese army under the command of “Abd al-Fattah al-Barhan” and the rapid support forces under the command of “Mohammed Hamdan Daghlo” nicknamed “Hamidati” around the presidential palace and the general command armed forces in Khartoum were on the move for the fifth time in a row on Wednesday.

The two conflicting parties in Sudan also agreed to extend the ceasefire for another 24 hours starting this evening (18:00) local time; But the clashes continued in Khartoum.

An official in the Sudanese army told Al Jazeera that the army is in full control of the headquarters.

Armed clashes have started in Sudan since Saturday morning between the army forces and the rapid support forces over power.

The counter-attacks of the Sudanese army and the rapid support forces have resulted in damage to public property and have caused problems for the supply of water and electricity in some areas of Khartoum.

The World Health Organization reported that 300 people have been killed and 2,600 injured since the start of the conflict in Sudan.
