The Muslim representative critical of the Zionist regime was expelled from the Foreign Relations Committee of the US Congress

Pak Sahafat – Ilhan Omar, a Muslim representative of the Democratic Party, was expelled from the Foreign Relations Committee of the US House of Representatives, where the Republicans hold the majority, for criticizing the Israeli regime.

Ilhan Omar, a Muslim female member of the American Democratic Party, was expelled from the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Representatives on local time in a party vote that was accompanied by a controversial debate on the floor of the House of Representatives and her shouting and anger.

The US House of Representatives expelled Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Relations Committee with 218 votes in favor of the Republicans and 211 votes against the Democrats.

Ilhan Omar, a refugee from Somalia, is one of the first Muslim women to serve in the House of Representatives and often faces death threats and other threats of violence.

The office of this female Muslim representative of the American Congress has told the American media that since Ilhan Omar’s name appeared again in the news, violent threats against her have increased significantly.

Republicans in the House of Representatives moved to expel Omar from the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Representatives after Ilhan Omar’s statements, which Speaker Kevin McCarthy described as “repeated anti-Semitic and anti-American statements.”

In Thursday’s resolution of Republicans against Ilhan Omar, she was openly criticized for a tweet in 2019 that called Israel’s supporters money lovers.

In this tweet, Ilhan Omar sarcastically told the Republican supporters of the Zionist regime: Everything is about their beloved Benjamin.

Hakim Jefferis, the leader of the minority of the Democrats, stated that Ilhan Omar has committed mistakes, but he firmly defended him and said: What we are witnessing today in the House of Representatives is not a public debate about politics or responsibility. This is a political revenge.

In her defense, Ilhan Omar added: Who can become an American? What opinion do you have to have to be considered an American? This is what this discussion is about. If you are an immigrant or if you are from a certain part of the world, you have a certain skin color or you are Muslim, you are considered suspicious.

Previously, in response to questions about Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, trying to prevent her from continuing in the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Representatives, Ilhan Omar said: People like McCarthy agree with the spread of Islamophobia.

According to the website of the US Congress (Hill), she added: “You remember when former US President Donald Trump entered my state, he said “Muslims and Somali refugees are infiltrating our country” or when Lauren Bobert (Republican representative) referred to me as a “terrorist”.

Ilhan Omar stressed that these people are in favor of spreading Islamophobia and emphasized: They do not agree with having the voice of a Muslim in the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament.
