The European Union threatens to ban Twitter

Pak Sahafat – The Financial Times newspaper reported that the European Union warned Elon Musk that Twitter may be banned and blocked; Unless it complies with strict European content moderation rules.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Anatolian news agency, the Financial Times newspaper reported on Wednesday night, quoting informed people, that Thierry Breton, the head of the European Union’s industry department, raised this threat in a video meeting.

According to the report, Burton told Musk he had to adhere to a list of rules, including an “arbitrary” approach to bringing back banned users.

The EU official confirmed the meeting in a statement and said: I welcome Elon Musk’s statement to prepare the Twitter 2.0 platform based on the Digital Services Act (DSA).

Elon Musk has not commented on the matter, but retweeted a post about Twitter 2.0, and the platform’s “continued commitment to the rules,” the report said.

This American billionaire acquired Twitter in October at a cost of $44 billion.

The 51-year-old man has fired almost half of Twitter’s 8,000 employees since taking over Twitter. It has also reinstated previously blocked accounts, including those of former US President Donald Trump, and said that it has “amnestied” the suspended accounts; This has raised concerns about the rise of misinformation and the spread of hateful posts.
