The English publication announced the suspension of London’s plan to identify the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization

Pak Sahafat – The London Times newspaper reported that the London government has stopped its plans to add the name of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to the list of so-called foreign terrorist organizations.

According to the Times report, this development took place after the British Foreign Ministry expressed concern about the closure of communication channels with Iran as a result of this action. This English publication added: Officials have also expressed concerns about how the IRGC can be identified as a terrorist group, since the IRGC is a government agency.

The Times quoted a government source as saying: “State Department officials have serious concerns about identifying the IRGC as a terrorist organization because they want to maintain their reach.” Of course, the Ministry of Interior and the government more broadly support this move, and the IRGC should have been identified as a terrorist organization by now, but this whole process has been stopped.”

This English publication added: The Ministry of Interior hopes that the identification of the IRGC as a terrorist organization will eventually progress, but this process is expected to be delayed for weeks or months.

The Times further wrote: The British Foreign Ministry refused to comment on this matter. A representative of the British government said: While the government is reviewing the list of terrorist organizations, we do not comment on whether a specific organization is targeted for banning.

The claim of the English publication about the movements of the European Union against the IRGC

For the first time, the Daily Telegraph newspaper claimed in a report on December 13 that the plan to identify the Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist entity was supported by the Minister of Interior, Soela Braverman, and his deputy, Tom Tugendhat, one of the main supporters of the terrorist group of the hypocrites.

According to the alleged report of this English publication, the inclusion of the IRGC’s name in the list of terrorist groups means that belonging to it, participating in meetings and carrying its emblem in public will be considered a crime.

On January 27, Financial Times published a report quoting high-ranking officials of this country and wrote that the London government is concerned about the consequences of identifying the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization and it is unlikely that an imminent decision will be made in this regard.

This British publication wrote that the process of investigating the IRGC as the most powerful military branch of Iran has been initiated by the British Home Office, but “no final decision has been made yet because there are discussions within the government about how to implement this action.”

The Financial Times stated that “it is very unusual for a government to designate another country’s military organization as a terrorist organization, and the UK must weigh the risks and benefits of such an action” and added: According to officials who are involved in the government’s internal negotiations, there is an anxiety in the British Foreign Office regarding the identification of the IRGC as a terrorist organization.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has warned that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is an official military institution of the country and that sanctioning it will be an illegal act. Nasser Kanani, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country, has said that the comments of the European officials “in connection with the decision to sanction the Revolutionary Guards, are a continuation of the non-constructive and irresponsible actions of this country, which are caused by the continuation of their wrong approach in relation to the government and people of Iran.”

Kanani stressed: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is the official military institution of the Islamic Republic, and we hope that the governments that take action in this field will pay attention to the results of their non-constructive actions and, in particular, do not sacrifice their mutual interests for fleeting political interests and emotional decisions.
