The crisis of appointing new security officials in occupied Palestine

At the same time as the cabinet formation crisis in occupied Palestine, Zionist sources reported that the Zionist regime’s prime minister and war minister had clashed over the appointment of a new head of the Internal Security and Security Agency (Shabak) and the army commander.

News sources, today (Friday), reported that the current Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, Benjamin Netanyahu, refuses to approve some people in order to take over the leadership of the regime’s security apparatuses and delegations, and tries to control these apparatuses by exploiting the political crisis, forming a cabinet and holding regular elections in the occupied territories.

Arab News Agency 48 quoted the Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth as saying in this regard that the three candidates for the post of head of the Zionist Intelligence and Internal Security Organization (Shabak) have not yet received a message that they will be elected as the head of the organization, which according to Zionist sources is due to a dispute between Netanyahu and Bani Gantz.

According to this report, “Bani Gantz”, the Minister of War of the Zionist regime, announced that Netanyahu is interested in appointing “Meir bin Shabat” as the so-called head of national security of the Zionist regime; He is one of the people closest to Netanyahu, and according to Yedioth Ahronoth, Gantz emphasized him: “Netanyahu will not allow anyone close to him to be appointed head of Shabak.”

Yedioth Ahronoth also reported that Ben Shabbat has become one of the political actors and allies of Netanyahu and will not be welcomed in Shabak, so that with his election, a number of officials of the Zionist regime’s intelligence and internal security organization will resign.

On the other hand, Arab 48 reported that Netanyahu and Gantz have not yet made a decision on extending the term of Aviv Kukhawi, the regime’s chief of staff; Kukhavi, whose presidency will end next January after three years.

Yedioth Ahronoth wrote that Netanyahu had approved “Deputy Chief of Staff” for the post; but he also has strong opposition to extending Kukhawi’s presidency. However, Aharanut wrote: “The problem is that the relationship between Netanyahu and Gantz does not allow any decision, and Kokhawi knows this well because when he took office he was forced to work under almost impossible circumstances, including being under political pressure and being rejected.”

The report notes that Aviv Kukhawi is unable to implement a multi-year military plan due to a lack of funding, a problem that has arisen following a cabinet crisis in the occupied territories over the past two years.
