The cold winter of Europe and the fear of the officials of the Green Continent from the sudden drop in air temperature

Pak Sahafat – Despite the rhetoric of the European authorities that the gas networks of the Green Continent countries are ready for the winter season of the year, the head of the German Gas Administration admitted that only a few days of extreme cold will be enough to increase the consumption of natural gas and exhaust European gas reserves.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from the Oil Price website, European officials say that statistics and figures indicate that liquefied natural gas storage warehouses have been fully filled before the arrival of the cold months, but European countries will only be able to survive this winter if frost and extreme cold do not occur.

Klaus Müller, head of the Federal Grid Organization (German energy sector regulator), warned again on Wednesday night that if consumers in the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors do not reduce natural gas consumption by at least 20%, the situation in the energy sector will seriously deteriorate.

Müller recently said that if the weather gets very cold, Germany’s natural gas reserves will be empty in a few days.

European authorities have admitted that the sharp increase in the price of energy carriers cannot dissuade people from using natural gas in the bone-burning cold of winter.

They also acknowledged Europe’s strong dependence on Russian gas imports and said that if the Russian natural gas transmission lines from Ukraine to Europe are cut, the people of these countries may face a disaster.

European countries are entering the cold months of the year when the energy crisis following the war in Ukraine seriously threatens this continent.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) recently warned of “unprecedented risks” of energy shortages, saying a prolonged cold snap would put energy supplies at risk.

The quarterly report of this organization shows that the European Union countries should reduce energy use by 13% during the winter months if they completely cut off energy imports from Russia.
