The bloody reality of America’s mirage

Pak Sahafat – The divisiveness of the governing bodies and the deep-rooted culture of weapons have led to the continuation of armed killings and the wounding of public opinion, and have increased the risk of immigrants’ regret and the reduction of immigration to the America.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, the American media reported yesterday (February 2) that 12 people were killed and 9 injured during the shooting of Chinese New Year participants in Monterey Park (one of the cities east of Los Angeles).

A little later, the body of the suspect in the shooting was discovered in a car. It seems that he ended his life by shooting himself.

A shooting at a non-profit school in the state of Iowa cost the lives of 2 students and injured several others. One of the injured, who is an employee of this institution, is reported to be in serious condition.

It is said that the shooter did this from inside a moving car and the police is interrogating him.

In continuation of the armed killings in the United States, a few hours ago the authorities of the state of California once again announced the shooting in 2 places of the city of Half Moon, during which seven people were killed and the assailant was also arrested.

This deadly shooting coincided with the visit of the governor of the state, Gavin Newsom, to the wounded of the previous day’s shooting. In response to these consecutive shootings, Newsom wrote on his Twitter page: Disaster after disaster.

The victims of this shooting were farm workers who were killed by the assailant due to work disputes.

Deadly shooting in the American state of Virginia with 10 dead

The data of the “Armed Violence Archive” website shows that since the beginning of 2023, 38 armed murders have occurred in the United States and more than 70 people have been killed.

Following the occurrence of these painful incidents, the issue of gun control and more restrictions has been raised in the American society and media. US President Joe Biden asked the Congress to quickly approve the twin bills banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and increasing the age of gun purchase to 21 years.

Biden’s statement said: “The majority of the American people agree with this common sense action.” There is no higher responsibility than doing our best to ensure the safety of our children, communities and nation.

The findings of a study published in late 2022 show that gun deaths have resulted in the death of more than 1 million people in the last three decades.

The estimate of a Swiss institute also indicates that the people of a lesser country are armed like the Americans, and about 393 million firearms, that is, 120 guns for every 100 Americans, are at the disposal of the street and market people.

Gallup polling institute announced this fall that about 45% of American adults have a gun in their home.

Now we have to see how the US government can deal with this problem with two factions of Congress, very different solutions and a deep-rooted gun culture. A problem that, despite the killings of the last few years, the republican and democratic governments was not able to solve it.

It is not unlikely that with the continuation of bloodshed and helplessness in Washington, people who choose America for immigration will reconsider their decision. According to one Monterey Park resident, “As Asian Americans, we try to be American, but we don’t want to be a part of this culture of violence. This is not the America of our dreams.”
