The BBC, Deutsche Welle and VOA were banned from broadcasting in Afghanistan

The Taliban have banned news coverage of a number of international media outlets in Afghanistan, including the BBC, Deutsche Welle and VOA.

According to Pak Sahafat News agency, “Tariq Kafaleh,” the BBC’s director of global services, said in a statement on Sunday: Broadcasting of Persian, Pashto and Uzbek BBC channels was banned by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

He called on the Taliban to reconsider their decision, adding: The Taliban’s move is alarming, and the BBC in Afghanistan has six million viewers a week.
