Syrian Red Crescent: The death toll from the earthquake reached 350

Pak Sahafat – The head of the Syrian Red Crescent, pointing out that the country is facing a shortage of relief equipment, announced that the number of people killed in the Syrian earthquake has increased to 350.

According to the report of Pak Sahafat News Agency, “Khaled Argasousi”, the head of the Syrian Red Crescent, presented new details of the Syrian earthquake in an interview with the “Sky News” channel.

The head of the Syrian Red Crescent said: After the earthquake that shook the country, 350 people have been killed. Syria’s civil defense is facing a severe shortage of equipment.

While asking for help from the Arab countries, he added: Our priority is to evacuate the people who are stuck under the rubble. We are facing a severe shortage of medicine and fuel in hospitals.

The Syrian Civil Defense Organization announced that the number of victims of the earthquake in the areas controlled by the opposition in the northwest of the country was 120 dead and the number of injured was 230.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale, centered in Turkey, shook many parts of the West Asia region and the Eastern Mediterranean region at dawn today.

Data from seismological centers show that this earthquake occurred on the border between Turkey and Syria and 26 km northeast of Gaziantep, Turkey.

Initial reports indicate that this earthquake was registered in Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and parts of Ukraine and Europe including Greece, Bulgaria, etc.

Following this earthquake, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad held an emergency meeting with the presence of cabinet members to examine the human and financial damage to the country and take necessary measures regarding it.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense also mobilized all its units, organizations and institutions in all provinces for immediate assistance to the Syrian people and search for pulling out the victims from under the rubble and helping the wounded and debris removal.
