Syria strongly condemned the baseless US allegations against Iran and Tehran’s claim of support for al-Qaeda, and declared its support for Iran in the face of US delusions.
A Syrian Foreign Ministry official told the official Syrian News Agency (SANA) on Thursday night: The Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns the US accusations against Iran and its claim to support the al-Qaeda terrorist group, in the context of insane propaganda against Iran.
The source added: The United States is only deceiving itself with such slanders, and such allegations are nothing more than a desperate attempt to clear the US government of its accusations and attribute it to others. Because the world knows very well that al-Qaeda and many other terrorist groups are American puppets and one of the political tools of this country to intimidate nations and disrupt the stability and security of other countries and to make them surrender to American domination.
The source noted: Syria strongly condemns these false accusations made by the failed US regime, which behaves like a bandit.
The source stressed: Syria expresses its full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran against this US nonsense and calls on all countries under US pressure to take a concerted stand against this US arrogance, which poses a serious threat to security and Stability in the region and the world.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently claimed in continuation of Iranophobia and false claims against our country: Iran had helped plan the 9/11 attacks, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is al-Qaeda’s new headquarters.
Pompeo claimed: Al-Qaeda member Abu Muhammad al-Masri was killed in Tehran last August. Al-Qaeda has had ties to Iran for the past three decades, and Iran has allowed al-Qaeda to raise money and connect with its leaders around the world.
Reacting to Mike Pompeo’s baseless allegations that Iran was linked to al-Qaeda, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said: No one is deceived All the terrorists of 9/11 were from Mike Pompeo’s favorite countries in the Middle East, none of them were from Iran.
