Strange US claim about sanctions against North Korea

A White House spokesman claimed that US sanctions against North Korea did not target the people.

“Sanctions on North Korea are not against the people of Korea,” White House spokesman Jen Saki told a news conference, according to Radio Korea International. He claimed that US sanctions and actions against the country did not affect the life of the North Korean people, but the problem was caused by the actions of the North Korean government.

Saki went on to claim that the United States would continue to work with other countries and organizations to send humanitarian aid to North Korea.

At a recent political meeting in Pyongyang, the North Korean president made a negative assessment of his country’s current situation. He made the remarks in the opening speech of the party secretaries of the Korean Workers’ Party.

Pyongyang is currently facing severe US sanctions against the country, as well as severe restrictions on the Corona virus. The country is also facing sanctions from US allies, with the Japanese government extending unilateral sanctions against North Korea for another two years on the pretext of continuing to develop its nuclear weapons and missile program, as well as failing to resolve the abduction of Japanese citizens.

Japan’s sanctions against North Korea ban all trade between the two countries and prevent Korean ships from entering Japanese ports. The sanctions also ban flights between the two countries.

Japan also fully implements UN sanctions against Pyongyang’s missile and nuclear program, including a ban on arms trade, seizure of North Korean assets, and other restrictions.

Sputnik recently reported that sanctions on natural disasters, such as severe storms, severe winters, the outbreak of the Covid 19 virus and the closure of borders, have left North Korea with a number of problems, including security, lack of medical equipment and Drugs, poor food security and other economic hardships.

North Korea recently announced that the United States had sought to contact the country by sending several e-mails and telephone messages; he described the new US administration’s attempt to reach out to the United States as “a waste of time” and said it would not negotiate with it until Washington changed its hostile policies.

Pyongyang officials say the United States will not back down from its missile and nuclear program until it ends its hostile policy to overthrow Pyongyang.
