Seventy police officers have left Congress since the Trump’s supporter’s attack

The Congress Police Association says more than 70 officers have left Congress since Jan. 6.

More than 70 congressional police officers have left Congress since the deadly raid on the building on January 6, the Congressional Police Association said in a statement.

According to the report, the U.S. Congressional Police Association added: The $ 1.9 billion supplementary package is not enough to keep current agents and convince them to serve in Congress.

The president of the US Congressional Police Association said: About a quarter of Congressional police officers will be eligible for retirement in the coming years. Police officers are in a bad mood after the deadly January 6 attack, and the $ 1.9 billion budget allocated by the House of Representatives is by no means enough.

He further added: Many of the young officers currently serving in the Congress building have applied to be transferred to other US police departments. More than 70 police officers have resigned or retired since January 6.

He called for a rapid response team to respond to incidents similar to the deadly attack by Donald Trump extremists on the Congress building.

Federal prosecutors have charged more than 300 people with involvement in a deadly attack on a congressional building. On Wednesday, January 6, at least five people, including a police officer, were killed during a raid by former President Donald Trump’s supporters on Congress.

Following the incident, the Pentagon began sending National Guard troops to Washington, increasing the number of troops stationed in Washington every day, so that on the day of Biden’s inauguration (February 1), more than 20,000 US National Guard troops in Washington, especially around Congress.
