Pak Sahafat – Germany’s Rheinmetall arms company, which plans to produce and deliver 300,000 bullets for self-propelled Gepard anti-aircraft defense to Ukraine, announced that the first shipment of these ammunitions, including 40,000 bullets, will be sent to Ukraine by the end of 2023.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, citing Ukrainian media, Armin Popperger, CEO of Rain Metal, emphasized: Every downed drone is of great importance to the residents of Kiev and other Ukrainian cities who live in fear every day of new Russian drone attacks.
In addition, Rheinmetall opened a new production line at its Unterlois plant to help Ukraine replenish its ammunition stockpile.
Earlier, Rheinmetall announced that it will build a production plant in Kiev in partnership with Ukraine’s state-owned company Ukroboronprom to produce ammunition, armored vehicles, as well as Panther tanks.

In this regard, Rheinmetall’s CEO told German newspaper Bild: We will not stop helping Ukraine, which has effective capabilities to defend against attacks against sensitive targets.
According to the Ukrainian media, Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said last Thursday (July 20) that Germany’s Rheinmetall armored car factory, if built in Ukraine, would be a legitimate target for the Russian army.
Rheinmetall, as Germany’s largest arms company and manufacturer of “Leopard 2” tanks, announced its promising negotiations with the Ukrainian government to build a tank production plant in this country.
The CEO of Germany’s Rheinmetall Arms Company said in an interview with the German publication “Spiegel” that this company can build a tank production plant in Ukraine with a cost of 200 million euros.
Popperger expressed hope for a favorable outcome from the talks with the Ukrainian government in the next 2 months and stated: This factory will be able to produce up to 400 Patner battle tanks per year.
