Zionist news sources reported that King Abdullah II and Naftali Bennett had a secret meeting in the Jordanian capital Amman.
King Abdullah II of Jordan hosted Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett in the palace in Amman.
The Walla website quoted a former Israeli official as saying that the meeting took place last week and that the two sides stressed the need to open a new page in Israeli-Jordanian relations.
The former official, who did not want to be named, stressed that the meeting took place in a “very positive atmosphere”.
The former Zionist official added: During the meeting, Bennett reiterated its readiness to support an increase in Israeli water exports to Jordan.
The Jordanian government announced that Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi met with his Zionist counterpart Yair Lapid last Thursday on the King Hussein Bridge on the border between occupied Palestine and Jordan.
Al-Safadi and Lapid agreed to sell 50 million cubic meters of additional water to Jordan, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said.
