Sanaa’s reaction to Biden’s claims: We are not fooled

A member of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, in response to the Biden’s claim that it would stop supporting the war against Yemen, stressed that Yemenis are not deceived by these professions.

Reacting to the news of the US decision to stop supporting offensive operations against Yemen, a member of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council stressed that the Yemenis are not deceived by these claims in any way.

“Any action that does not end the siege of Yemen will not be considered,” Mohammed Ali al-Houthi tweeted on Thursday evening.

“We are not among those who are deceived in any way the professions are expressed,” he added.

White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Thursday that US President Joe Biden will stop supporting US offensive operations in Yemen.

The Associated Press reports that the decision is in line with Joe Biden’s promises to end the years-long war in Yemen, which has led to widespread poverty, unemployment and infectious diseases in the impoverished Arab country.

News sources also report that Biden intends to nominate Timothy Lander King, a State Department official, as the new US ambassador to Yemen.

Since April 2015, a Saudi-led coalition has targeted the poor country of Yemen with heavy air, land and sea attacks to restore power to ousted Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi.

These attacks have led to the destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure and the spread of poverty, unemployment and the spread of infectious diseases in this poor Arab country.

UN experts describe Yemen as the scene of the world’s greatest humanitarian crisis. More than 70% of the Yemeni population needs some kind of humanitarian aid and support. Millions of them do not know where their next meal will come from.
