Russia has blocked the website of the Daily Telegraph

Pak Sahafat – According to the Daily Telegraph, the Russian government has blocked the newspaper’s website in Moscow for publishing reports of war casualties.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, quoting the Guardian, Russia has blocked the Daily Telegraph website for publishing a report by the newspaper, which Moscow calls fake. The Daily Telegraph reported that the reason for blocking its website in Russia was the publication of incorrect information about Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace had previously told the Daily Telegraph that the Kremlin was trying to hide the number of war casualties in the war with Ukraine.

The Daily Telegraph was blocked in Russia on February 23, the day before the Russia-Ukraine war. The Daily Telegraph was shut down in April, but it is unclear why it was delayed.

The Daily Telegraph is the first British newspaper to have its website blocked in Russia due to its coverage of the war with Ukraine.

In the first reaction to the Moscow decision, newspaper officials said: The newspaper is proud of its coverage of the Russia-Ukraine war and deplores Russia’s efforts to restrict press freedom.

Russia last week barred 29 British journalists from entering the country over false news about the Ukraine war.
