Russia called for a meeting of the Security Council regarding the sabotage of the Nord Stream lines

Pak Sahafat – First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, said that Moscow requested a meeting of the United Nations Security Council regarding the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Polianski wrote on his Telegram channel on Wednesday: Due to the new information about the explosion of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, we requested a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on February 22 at 15:00 New York time.

Tass news agency quoted him as saying: The United Nations General Assembly will resume its work on the situation in Ukraine at the same time in a special session, and a resolution against Russia is supposed to be presented there.

Previously, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh revealed that American divers planted explosives in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in the summer of 2022 under the cover of the Baltops exercise. Then these explosives were detonated by the Norwegians in a deliberate sabotage operation.

According to him, the decision to carry out this operation was made by US President Joe Biden after 9 months of talks with government officials involved in national security issues.

Adrienne Watson, the head of the press service of the White House National Security Council, called Hersh’s report “a lie and a complete illusion” in response to a question from TASS news agency.
