Riyadh and Tel Aviv share a common concern about a change in Russian behavior on Syrian soil

Russia’s announcement of its defense systems against Israeli aggression has raised a wave of concern among both Riyadh and Tel Aviv.

Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, in a report published today Saturday, referred to Russia’s insistence on intercepting missiles fired by Israeli fighters into Syrian territory: Did the Russians change their approach and movements in Syria after their negotiations with the American side?

The Saudi newspaper quoted Russian sources as saying: There is a possibility that Syrian airspace will be closed to Israeli fighters, and Moscow will do so if Israel continues its attacks and aggression on Syrian soil.

According to the Saudi media: We are witnessing a change in Moscow’s official accent in the way it responds to Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, and this means the formation of developments on the ground.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat also reported that the Israelis also realized that they had not entered Syrian airspace in their latest offensive and had attacked and fired from inside Lebanese airspace.

In this regard, the Intel Times page on social networks published a brief analysis in this regard and asked: Are we witnessing a change in Russia’s policy toward Israeli attacks on Syria?

The Hebrew-language media outlet, which is close to Israeli intelligence circles, said in response to a question that happened to bear a significant resemblance to the concerns of the Saudi media, the Russian Defense Ministry said, from this Saturday morning, he will assist the Syrian government in intercepting missiles fired into its territory.
