Record unprecedented number of complaints from the BBC over coverage of the Queen’s husband’s death

The number of complaints received by a British network for covering the news of the Queen’s husband’s death has reached a record in the history of the country’s media.

The BBC has received more than 100,000 complaints over its coverage of the death of Prince Philip, the British Queen’s husband.

According to the Sky News website, the BBC spokesman, while announcing these statistics, also insisted: “We are proud of the cover we gave [to the death of Prince Philip] and the role we played in moments of national importance.”

One hundred thousand complaints received by the BBC is a new record in the history of the British media, Sky News wrote.

According to the television network, the previous record for receiving the most complaints was also assigned to one of the BBC programs, which in 2005 received more than 63,000 complaints.

The BBC broadcast dozens of programs about Prince Philip on Friday. Simultaneously with the broadcast of these pre-recorded programs on BBC 1, the BBC’s second network also broadcasts them on the air.

In addition to attacking the BBC’s criticism page, British citizens also protested on social media.

A British citizen wrote on Twitter: “Am I the only one who thinks it’s ridiculous that all the BBC radio channels are broadcasting a program about Prince Philip?” “I feel like I was in Eastern Europe forty years ago.”
