Record more than 400,000 daily infections in India for the first time

As India’s death toll rose to 402,000 overnight, more than 3,500 people died, and for the umpteenth time, a hospital in the India caught fire, killing 18 people.

Today (Saturday) India once again broke the record of its daily infection and the world, recording 401,993 infections in one day.

According to the Indian Ministry of Health, taking into account this number, the total number of patients exceeded 19 million.

According to the Anatolian News Agency, meanwhile, the crowned country of India also recorded 3,523 new deaths overnight, bringing the total number of victims to 211,853.

Since April 22 (for the ninth day in a row), the country has seen more than 300,000 cases every day, with its healthcare system disrupted and hospitals in India severely short of oxygen, beds and medicine.

According to statistics, New Delhi, the capital of India, which is facing severe oxygen shortage, registered more than 27,000 cases on Friday. In addition, due to the rise in fatalities, the capacity of cremation centers has been reduced.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been widely criticized for failing to manage the second wave, has announced more measures to address the current situation. The Indian Council of Ministers called the current situation “the crisis of the century” after Friday’s meeting.

Some countries have also announced their readiness to help India and some of them have sent medical aid to this country.

As the world’s second-most populous country grapples with the deadly Corona epidemic, its hospitals have caught fire several times.

According to Sputnik, at least 18 people, most of them coroners, died this morning (Saturday) in a fire at a hospital in the western state of Gujarat.
