The Russian president stated on Thursday that Moscow considers Hezbollah an important political current in Lebanon.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International Group, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Moscow considers Hezbollah a “significant political force” in Lebanon.
Vladimir Putin said Russia would consider investigating the Beirut bombing and was ready to provide satellite images to Lebanese officials.
He said about Hezbollah: “Opinions about Hezbollah vary from country to country, but we consider it an important political current in Lebanon.”
The US government has worked hard in recent years to reduce Hezbollah’s popularity in Lebanon. In this regard, Washington has put a lot of pressure on European countries to declare the whole Hezbollah terrorist. The United States has also placed several Lebanese banks and figures on the sanctions list for alleged links to Hezbollah.
This decision was made while Hezbollah is one of the most important political parties in Lebanon. In the recent Lebanese parliamentary elections, a large number of seats in the coalition were backed by Hezbollah, despite US action against the party.

US actions in Lebanon have been repeatedly criticized by political experts and analysts, who say Hezbollah has played an important role in maintaining peace and stability in Lebanon and fighting terrorist and extremist groups in the region.
The Russian President added: “We work with all Lebanese currents to maintain security, stability and peace in the country. We always encourage the resolution of disputes through dialogue.”
