President of Colombia: America is destroying the world economy

Gustavo Petro, the first left-wing president in the history of Colombia, said that the United States would destroy all the economies of the world to protect itself, regardless of what happens to other countries.

In a speech, the president of Colombia stated: The United States is practically destroying all the economies of the world.

Emphasizing the damage caused by American policies in Latin America, Petro added: “Countries like the United States and France take actions without considering the consequences they create.”

The President of Colombia said: Decisions are made to protect themselves, sometimes without thinking about what is going to happen to other countries through their actions, and the economies of Latin American countries are drained.

Petro pointed out that the “conflicts experienced in the old continent will lead to the economic destruction of Europe” and said: Following the war in Ukraine, the European economy collapses, Germany enters recession. Who would have thought that England, once a colonial power and British Empire, would be in a collapsing economic crisis today.

The President of Colombia said about the increase in the price of the dollar, which reached 4,800 Colombian pesos on Wednesday this week and broke a new record: Conflicts and waves of global recession mean that the price of the currency is increasing and will remain in this trend. This is something that is not only happening in Colombia, but also in several Latin American countries.

In this way, Petro invited Latin American countries to design a common plan to respond to the economic crisis.

Colombia’s new president’s criticism of US policies comes at a time when Colombia, previously ruled by the right-wing and staunch allies of Washington, is at the center of US policy in the Latin American region. In a statement on May 22, US President Joe Biden’s office officially announced Colombia as Washington’s main non-NATO ally. Therefore, the regulation of relations with the new government is of great importance for Washington.
