Pompeo’s reaction to the US airstrikes in Syria: I hope they did not bomb the plains and the desert

The former US Secretary of State said in response to the US military air operation in eastern Syria, “I hope they did not bomb the plains and the desert!”

Former United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has reacted to last night’s US military airstrike in eastern Syria.

Pompeo told Fox News: “The US military operation in eastern Syria must have targeted what threatens the United States. You have to protect your forces and you have to create deterrence. “We have done this many times.”

He went on to say sarcastically to the new US administration: “I do not know what they attacked and what positions they targeted, but I hope they did not bomb the plains and the desert. I hope they hit exactly what was a threat to America.

The former US Secretary of State, as usual, avoided Iran and added, “We must make sure that we stop Iran from acting anywhere.” Weakness and appeasement against Iran is the reward of terror against the United States.

The Pentagon said Friday morning that the U.S. military had bombed positions belonging to resistance groups in eastern Syria at the behest of Joe Biden.

Prior to the Pentagon‘s confirmation, Reuters quoted two informed officials as saying that the United States had attacked positions allegedly belonging to allied forces in Syria.

According to the report, the officials, who did not want to be named, said that the attack was authorized by the US President. The attack came in response to recent attacks on US positions in Iraq, a US official said.

The Sabrin News Telegram Channel, which is close to resistance groups, also reported that it targeted a US plane between Abu Kamal and al-Qaim on the Syrian-Iraqi border.
