Palestinian prisoner: My situation represents the power of Palestine and the true face of the occupiers

Pak Sahafat – Khalil al-Awawede, who has been on hunger strike for 170 days, emphasized that this body, which has only skin and bones left on it, represents the power of Palestine and the true face of the Zionist occupation regime.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, Khalil Awadeh, a Palestinian prisoner who has been on hunger strike for 170 days, emphasized that even if my flesh and skin melt, I will not accept administrative detention.

In the audio file that Awadeh’s family released of him in the hospital, the Palestinian captive emphasized: This body, which is only skin and bones, does not represent the weakness of the Palestinian nation, but it represents the true face of the occupiers who claim to be a small democratic country, while there is a prisoner without any charges who stood up against arbitrary administrative detention to say “no to administrative detention” with his flesh and blood.

He said that Palestine will be free, even if the price is high.

Khalil Awadeh’s wife also announced after publishing a picture of him: He will not break his hunger strike until he gets his freedom.

He said: The doctors warned about Khalil’s physical condition, but he continues his strike. The Zionist regime has put pressure on him to stop his strike, but he is determined to continue this situation at any cost.

The Palestine Information Center wrote on Thursday about Khalil Awadeh’s situation: This Palestinian prisoner is in a very dangerous situation and is currently hospitalized in an Israeli hospital in the occupied territories of 1948.

Despite the fact that the release of Al-Awawede was one of the clauses of the agreement to calm the situation in Gaza between the resistance and the Zionist regime after the recent 3-day clashes, the Zionist side has not agreed to release him until now.

“Khalil Awadeh” resumed his strike on July 2. After 111 days of his strike, he suspended his strike based on the promise of the occupiers to release him, but they not only did not fulfill their promise, but once again issued a four-month administrative arrest warrant for him, and he has been on strike since July 2.

The release of al-Awawdeh and Bassam al-Saadi, one of the leaders of the Islamic Jihad movement, was one of the conditions of this movement for a cease-fire in Gaza, and the negotiations for the release of these two Palestinian prisoners continue through mediation parties. On Thursday, it was reported that a delegation from the UN envoy met Al-Saadi. The International Committee of the Red Cross also met with these two prisoners two days ago in order to prepare the ground for the release of Al-Awawdeh and Al-Saadi based on the terms of the Islamic Jihad regarding the ceasefire.

The ceasefire agreement between the Zionist regime and the Islamic Jihad movement was implemented on August 17 last month with the mediation of Egypt.

This ceasefire was closed and implemented after 58 Zionist settlements from inside the Gaza Strip were targeted by rocket attacks of the Palestinian resistance forces.

According to this agreement, Egypt will try to release the captive Bassam al-Saadi in the shortest possible time and will also make efforts and commit to the release of the captive Awadeh.

Also, the Supreme Committee for Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs announced in a statement: If the prison administration of the Zionist regime does not stop the organized mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners and does not change this practice, a thousand Palestinian prisoners will go on an indefinite hunger strike from Thursday.

This committee, which is composed of representatives of all Palestinian resistance groups, added: In the first stage, a thousand Palestinian prisoners will start a hunger strike from September 1, and in the later stages, another number of Palestinian prisoners will join it.

According to this statement, the hunger strike will continue until all the prisoners’ demands are accepted by the Zionist regime.

The Extraordinary High Committee, which is in charge of dealing with the affairs of Palestinian prisoners, asked the Palestinian people to hold protest rallies in front of the offices of international institutions and the borders of the occupied territories in support of the prisoners.

The Palestinian prisoners’ cells in the prisons of the Zionist regime have witnessed tension in the past days in response to the mistreatment and hostile actions of the prison administration.

The prison administration of the Zionist regime, in violation of previous agreements, has removed the electrical and electronic devices of the prisoners and increased the restrictions.

According to the statistics published by the Palestinian Prisoners Organization, about 4,550 Palestinian prisoners are currently in prisons and detention centers of the Zionist regime.
