Netanyahu: America should not have supported the statement condemning Israeli settlements

Pak Sahafat – The Prime Minister of the Zionist regime criticized the statement of the UN Security Council condemning the settlement construction of this regime in the occupied Palestinian lands.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, citing the Al-Nashrah news site, the office of the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, Benjamin Netanyahu, said that this statement was “biased” regarding the statement issued by the Security Council against the settlement construction of this regime.

He added: This statement should not have been issued and America should not have joined it.

The criticism of Netanyahu’s office for issuing a statement and supporting it is that the Security Council was supposed to issue a resolution against the Zionist regime’s settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories, but under pressure from the United States, it settled for issuing the same statement.

In this connection, the Hamas movement regretted the Security Council’s decision to issue a statement instead of a resolution condemning the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people and settlements.

The statement of Hamas states that this action of the Security Council is an escape from the responsibilities assigned to this Council based on international conventions and norms.

Hamas also expressed its opposition to the withdrawal of the Security Council from the draft resolution of the United Nations under the pressure of the United States, which aimed to condemn the violation of Palestinian rights by the occupying regime, especially the activity of illegal settlements.

The Islamic Resistance Movement of Palestine added: We consider this a green light for the continued aggression and crimes of the occupiers against our land, people and sanctuaries.

Hamas has asked the international community, especially the Security Council, to take practical deterrent measures against the occupying regime and its settlement policy, and not to be content with condemning and expressing concern, which has never had an effect on stopping settlement construction.

In the end, this Jabash emphasized that the international positions towards the racist policies of the Zionist regime, which violate all international laws and covenants, have been fragile.

On Monday local time, the United Nations Security Council condemned the Zionist regime’s plan to expand settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories by issuing an official statement. An action that took place after 6 years from the last resolution of this council, and America also appeared in the role of opposing its long-time ally.

While the United Arab Emirates had prepared a draft resolution to stop Israeli settlements in the West Bank with the cooperation of the Palestinians, it did not submit its request for a vote on the resolution against Tel Aviv.
