Nationwide demonstrations by the French for several days in a row

Pak Sahafat – The people of France protested the retirement plan of the government of President Emmanuel Macron, for several days in a row, held nationwide demonstrations.

According to the International group of Pak Sahafat news agency, France today Saturday for the seventh day in a row against the pension and pension plans of the Macron government held nationwide demonstrations, while on the other hand, strikes have affected public transport and garbage collection.

The coalition of French unions, which has maintained its unity since the start of the protest movement at the end of January, hopes to increase pressure on the government to back down from its plan.

According to figures from the French interior ministry, nearly 1 million people are expected to take part in more than 200 marches across the country as the Senate continues to consider the reforms and announce its vote by Sunday night.

Demonstrations in the streets of major cities, including Toulouse and Nice, began this morning local time, and a march in Paris is planned for 2 pm local time.

According to government figures, about 1.28 million people took to the streets on Tuesday to participate in demonstrations, the highest number since the beginning of the protest movement.

French trade unions estimated the number of participants in the demonstrations at 3.5 million.

Polls show that the majority of voters oppose Macron’s plan to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64.
