He added: Moscow and Islamabad emphasize that the international community should support the continuation of interaction with the interim government in Afghanistan.

The special representative of the Prime Minister of Pakistan emphasized that this country shares a close view with the Russian side on the Afghanistan issue, and the parties agreed on the continuation of consultations in the future.

It is worth mentioning that the Prime Minister of Pakistan emphasized the necessity of freeing Afghanistan’s assets and helping to solve the country’s economic crisis during a meeting with the US Secretary of State in Islamabad yesterday.

The United States blocked the foreign exchange reserves of the Afghan government after the Taliban took control of the country in August 2021. In February, US President Joe Biden signed an executive order agreeing to divide $7 billion of Afghan assets into a humanitarian fund and pay compensation to the families of victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
