Minneapolis police have killed another American citizen

About eight months after the murder of George Floyd, a black American citizen in Minneapolis, again American police shot dead a black man on Wednesday night.

Minneapolis police shot and killed a man on Wednesday night.

It was the first murder by police in the city since the murder of George Floyd, a black American citizen, in May, sparking nationwide protests against racism and police violence in various US cities.

Madaria Aradondo, the city’s police chief, told a news conference that eyewitness statements showed the dead man first shot at police after police stopped his car. It happened less than a mile from the scene of George Floyd’s murder.

Dozens of citizens gathered outside a gas station near the shooting site to protest the police action, shouting at police officers.

According to the New York Post, Aradondo called on the people to remain calm and protest peacefully at the press conference.

He promised that the camera pictures of the police officers’ uniforms would be released soon.

It is not yet known how many police officers were involved in the incident, and the State Criminal Office is investigating.

In early June, a video of US police violence against blacks was released, in which a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, placed his knee on the neck of George Floyd, a 47-year-old black American, for nine minutes while he said he could not breathe, the police man did not react. Eventually, this American citizen lost his life.

Following the release of the video of Floyd’s assassination, demonstrations began in Minneapolis to protest US police brutality against blacks, and gradually spread to other US cities and even other parts of the world.

Since Floyd was assassinated, various video clips of police violence against blacks have been released in cities and states in the United States, which have provoked a lot of negative reactions.
